Who We Are
The Church
We are an independent evangelical church, made up of Christians of many ages,
nationalities and denominations. Our main meeting is at 10.30am on a Sunday
morning, at Roundwood Park School, Harpenden. You would be very welcome to
come along. There is a crèche for under 3s, and activities for children from 3
to 15. We also run a range of activities for all ages throughout the week. See 'Meetings'.
The church is affiliated to the F.I.E.C. (Fellowship of Independent
Evangelical Churches) and the Evangelical Alliance. For more information on
these see 'Links' and 'What we believe'.
In January 2008 we established a new church, ChristChurch Redbourn, in the nearby village of Redbourn.

The leadership
The church currently employs three people on a full time basis
and a pastoral co-ordinator on a part-time basis:
| Gareth Lewis
(Senior Minister) |
Steve Warner
(Youth Minister) |
Chris Smith (Minister) |
Denise
Johnson (Pastoral co-ordinator) |
 |
 |
 |
 |
Except for staff, who may be appointed from elsewhere, the leadership is
elected from among the church membership, and comprises those respected by the
church for their spiritual qualities. The two leadership groups in the New
Testament were called Elders and Deacons, and this is the practice we follow at ChristChurch.
The Elders are responsible for the overall leadership and spiritual
advancement of the church as a whole, and of its individual members.
Currently the elders are:
 |
 |
|
|
| Mark Laughlan |
Haydn Williams |
Stephen Pentland |
Keith Goulding |
Youth Workers - we
currently have two Youth and Children's workers, Matt Ingle,
and Gill Maiden.
 |
|
Matt Ingle (Youth
and Children's Worker) |
Gill
Maiden (Youth
and
Children's Worker) |
The Deacons are responsible for the practical affairs of the church. These include the maintenance of the buildings and the general organisation of resources.
Currently the deacons are:
The members
At ChristChurch, all the members are involved in the running of the church,
sharing in the decision-making process, and hold the leadership accountable for
what they do.
Anyone who is trusting Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour is welcome to
apply for membership. Membership involves the privilege and responsibility of
being involved in the life of the church. We aim to encourage all members to
know what their gifts are and actively use them.
